Brookfield Properties Board of Directors are all 1%rs. They want this to go away. It isn't about the park. It's about the dangerous message coming out of it, sending them into Plutocratic Panic.

But I see some value - PR and "cultural cred", if you will - from very publicly making such a proposal, complete with rental offer, "regular maintenance" schedule, contingencies for snow removal, etc. even as I agree with you that it would most likely be rejected out of hand.

It's a bit more difficult for OWS to be denounced as "irresponsible layabouts" when a good faith offer to "pay your way" and adhere to sanitation, aesthetic, access, etc. standards has been made, and it really costs nothing but a few hours of brainstorming, research, and publication. There's more than enough brainpower and expertise available. Besides, I expect that most those considerations would be applicable to the logistics of very long term occupation anyway.

This would be less an offer to Brookfield than a statement to observers still trying to decide what to make of OWS.
