    If he person who is spreading the lie is someone that his listeners respect, they aren't willingly going to accept the fact that he's lying.

    It might be better to simply say he's mistaken, and show your facts.

      I've spent the last 30 years being polite and reasonable.  In political discourse I'm done with that.  I call 'em like I see 'em and I state the facts as I know them.  Others don't have to agree and they don't have to like me.  Hell, if they don't agree, I probably have little reason to like them...
