    by endorsing cram-down.  That might not result in foreclosures, strictly speaking, but it would find a more reasonable bottom and keep people in their homes.  

    The "fix them up" is a neat touch.  Properties that have been abandoned are certainly in disrepair -- but those are not likely to be the subject of a contested foreclosure, are they?  This is just some rich dude complaining that other people have crab grass.
