    I'm sure, just as former candidate Clinton's campaign charges something for her mailing list (see up-thread), there's money involved; but I'm also sure that you can't just buy a political mailing list; the organization has to be willing to let you have it.

    And thank you for the condolences.  My partner's last illness was the main reason for my political inactivity in the 2010 election cycle.

      I would guess that Hillary's mailing list is somewhat unique in that it's (a) huge, and (b) owned by a campaign that remains in debt (last I checked).

      Sounds like you have some political odd couple stories. :D

        was large and incredibly fruitful just when she was running for the senate - I lived several states away but was snapped up for it, tin-cupped on it at least once every year (not just her own election cycles).  If I controlled it I'd charge well more than $8K for it.

        And yes, at my house, political conversation could get rowdy. We agreed on one candidate in 2008 (the Democrat running for sheriff), but canceled each other's vote out in the GE, in every other race.
