    The farmers will tell you they can't find Americans to pick crops - certainly not a price that Americans find worthwhile.  Students will tell you they can't make enough money during the summer to cover tuition. We already spend a lot of money to subsidize farmers. Well, why not have the US government subsidize farms-  preferably smaller independent farm - and help students go to college at the same time by having Uncle Sam pick up college tuition in exchange for picking crops? Most of the crops need to be picked when students are out of school and most kids are healthy enough do the work. Seems like a win - win to me.
