understandable pushback from some OWS members. I think there is already some of that ongoing from what I've read with Ron Paul supporters and other bigoted folks joining up and being ostracized to whatever degree.

and should always bring in as many people as support the overarching goal of the cause. In this case, that's corporate greed, and the Tea Party is with us on the issue.

Furthermore, unless they're millionaires, they are members of "the 99%" and shouldn't be turned away unless they cannot play by the rules created by the General Assembly. There are Tea Partiers in our local group and they are fitting in quite nicely. As a matter of fact, I have never seen them debate so politely...

feel comfortable working with racists on these economic issues? It could be very alienating to non-white folks in particular. I'm glad to hear it's working out in your area but do wonder what the dynamic is like between Tea Partiers and non-white people in it?

Not trying to argue what's working for you, by any means. Just surprised.

...and they're supposed to be inclusive. The consensus can simply be that the GA will not tolerate hate speech. Then the racist knows they are welcome to stay and work on the issue of corporate greed and push back on that, but if they engage in racist talk, they will be removed.

Who knows, maybe this will be the first time that racist will work side by side with a black person. Perhaps we should be willing to give it a try if only to open that person's eyes, eh? Think about how many gay-bashing conservatives support gay marriage once their child comes out...
