  •  The "Thought Control" Ammendmant (4.00)
    Two things:

1 - it WAS intended to kill the bill.  At it nearly accomplished the task.

2 - the Ammendmant had nothing to do with "Thought Control".  The Ammendmant said that anti-abortion terrorists who were found guilty of terrorist activity - like, say, bombing an abortion clinic - could not claim bankruptcy to get out of paying lawsuits to victims of their terrorist acts.

For a Repub to call that "Thought Control" is the height of hypocracy, but when has that ever stopped them?

    W is teh suck!
Bill Clinton could charm the pants off of anyone. Unfortunately, it was also a vice versa situation.

    •  Here's a question then (none)
With these new rules coming down, won't it be harder for these anti-choice terrorists to claim bankruptcy and be clear of all debt?  Seems in a way they're going to be getting screwed by this bill another way.
    •  In a word ... (none)
      ... "no."

But of course we already know that.  And the hits just keep on coming, don't they?

    •  oh (none)
i thought it was aimed at Randall Terry
    •  Even that (none)
sounds an awful lot like viewpoint discrimination to me, as stated.  Why not aim it at all terrorists?  You can easily imagine a bill in the McCarthy era depriving Communists who participated in violent acts of bankruptcy protection.  Or later, civil rights protestors.  My point is not that Randall Terry and his crew are good people or should be shielded against the financial consequences of crimes they commit.  I just think a penalty like that shouldn't be aimed at particular movements.  It should apply to every similarly situated person who commits a crime, no matter what political opinions caused them to do so.
