the Madison cops refused to clear the State Building last winter.

What's changed?  Are these different cops (i.e. state rather than city?)

    •  I was in one of those marches last winter. (4+ / 0-)

You couldn't have thrown a ping pong ball without pegging some member of law enforcement.  There were police, deputy sheriffs, corrections officers and even a couple of state troopers, all in their off-duty Union jackets.

I live way up north of Madison.  Our sheriff (a Democrat) said a couple of his deputies also made the trek around the state house, with his blessing.

has had a couple of recommended diaries in the last couple days about people being arrested in Wisconsin and taken out of the General Assembly.  That is what I was commenting on.  He had a couple of videos that showed people sitting silent with protest signs pinned to their clothes and they were kicked out and a couple of people were filming and arrested.

The videos, I believe, are more recent events since the State Building protest.

        •  Probably nothing. Cops aren't monolithic. (4+ / 0-)

You'll find plenty who are with us, and plenty who see the world as an extension of high school, when people gave a shit about their 6-2 winning season.

Maybe Walker's just surrounding himself with more of the latter type, these days?

        •  I think what has changed in Wisconsin is (0+ / 0-)

it's the state police instead of the local Madison police.

I would check in this guy's diaries, as he seems to be covering it fairly well.

H'mm. I'm not terribly into this, anymore.
