Facts are facts. Common decency is common decency.

I cannot and will not get outraged if City Council members politely listened through the time alloted to OSD members, and then objected when the OSD members attempted to disrupt other citizens' opportunity to be heard.

I can, and do, get pretty miffed if a diary tries to gin up such outrage by telling me the falsehood that the Council members rudely walked out on OSD members during their allotted speaking time.

meetings, I respectfully say you have a lot to learn about local government and public meetings.  I've spent time on both sides of the table.

To begin with, 3 minutes for public comments at meetings is too short. It almost begs for confrontation with citizens.

I can only assume this city council has become lulled into a false sense of complacency and too much faith in its own superiority over the citizens who put them in office.  The last couple of decades have seen citizen participation in local government decline steadily, but its now on the upswing.  Local governments will have to learn to adapt, or their members will be voted out of office.

      during the mic check.

I just can't find the video.

After the mic check, they came back in, sat down, and adjourned.  That is what you see in the vid.

There were a lot of people there.  I was sitting in the front so I had a good view of the dais.  The people filming were focused on the crowd and missed it.

This really sucks.  If I can't find video then I can't prove it.  But I'm not ginning up anything.
