They just have no compunction about it when it serves their purposes.  Part of nonviolence is to assure that it does not serve their purposes.

    •  It always serves their purposes. (0+ / 0-)

Their purpose is to consume you, in any and every way.

To respond to such a situation nonviolently is to brand your forehead with the word "Prey."

powerful empire in the world at that time. They really preyed on him didn't they genius.

My reason for pointing what monster most of these people are was not to justify idiocy - because moral issues aside, getting violent is pure stupidity.

My point was in justifying using the word enemy.

There are limited, rare conditions under which violence is justified, and we are not even in the same galaxy as those conditions.  A thousand incidents like those in Oakland would still not put us within range of those conditions.  If you sincerely believe what you're saying, then that's scary.  If you believe these anecdotes, occurring at a small minority of protests,  and some of which will result in justice, are not merely tantamount to but beyond what was faced in India, the Jim Crow South, apartheid South Africa, and the Communist state fought by Polish Solidarity - if you think what we're facing is worse than that, then you...are...delusional.

        •  Straw man much? (0+ / 0-)

Violence is nearly always justified. It's also incredibly effective.

We are merely required to pretend on this site that this is not the case.
