  •  So? It gets rid of recall elections. (0+ / 0-)

Recall elections means teh electorate has the power to fire an elected official whom the electorate finds to be incompetent or worse.

Eliminating that ability eliminates a democratic mechanism.  If we're cool with that why not just go all the way?

    •  And allowing (0+ / 0-)

recalls can lead to perpetual elections where nothing can get done.

The electorate gets their chance every election cycle to fire officials.   There are checks and balances against a governor with the legislative body.

Unless there is blatant criminal activity involved then I am not convinced that recall elections are a good thing.  Sometimes you have to live with a crappy decision.

      •  In this case getting nothing done is preferable (0+ / 0-)

To the damage that IS getting done

        •  I agree (0+ / 0-)

because I don't like Republican policies.

However, I also wouldn't want to see Republicans to be able to recall a Democratic governor who was implementing progressive policies.

          •  Then you do not realize what is at stake (0+ / 0-)

This is class warfare, and they do want to take our democracy from the people and whatever money we have left and give it to the corporations.  But if that is preferable to fighting and maybe having them try a recall as well........
Remember they were unable to recall ONE Democractic senator
