Police called in reserve units and gathered with batons and helmets near the plaza this morning only to disappear a few hours later. Protesters who have been camping on the plaza for the last few weeks say police gave them a written notice saying they were calling off the raid. ...

Supervisor Eric Mar said he didn't think San Francisco should "overreact like Oakland did." Supervisors David Chiu, Jane Kim, John Avalos said they supported the protesters. State Senator and mayoral candidate Leland Yee said he came to the encampment to "see how active people are, I don't think you have to shut it down."

It does seem like they got together, candidates and non-candidates alike, and decided to show support to SF occupation and oppose OPD-like tactics.
