  •  Do you think the rank and file union members are (5+ / 0-)

    more activist than the top union leadership? Union leadership seems to be too beholden to the Dems. For example, pushing for single payer/Medicare for all. Sometimes they make radical statements but then don't follow up on their warnings.
     By the way, some of the local union members spoke at a single payer healthcare rally(we did a die-in at the bankrputcy court at the end of it) as part of OccupyMN.

    It is good unions are supporting the movement.  In the long run (I assume OWS will grow and grow), will the leadership continue the support as election season gets near? A million $ question.

      I know the ILWU here in Oakland and the TWU in New York have very radicalized members.  In New York the subway workers and bus drivers, both TWU, were suportive well before the unions were.  The strike probably could have had more time to get the unions on board, but I have high hopes.  Strike while the iron is hot, as they say.

      There revolution will not be televised. But it will be blogged, a lot. Probably more so than is necessary.
