    Most pregnancies end in miscarriage, most of them in the first trimester, often with the woman never aware she's been pregnant.  The little DNA dance of sperm and ova often produce seriously nonviable results.  There are also often problems with the timing and implantation in the uterine wall.  I don't know why more people don't love science, it's fascinating stuff, especially the science around human reproduction (and I don't mean sex, what comes after, though I'm all for good sex...er, how do I get out of this sentence, better just quit).
