    the death penalty, well, isn't that an abortion? Those Personhood-pushing states tend to like capital punishment.

    I guess the executioner has to then be tried for performing an illegal abortion. Personhood doesn't seem very well thought out.

      Clearly consistent enforcement regarding rights of the human being, however tiny and lacking in cell differentiation, needs to consider the sex. If it is a tiny woman person then it should be okay for the husband to kill it, just as it is in practice permitted for husbands to kill wives in most of the states which would consider passing this legislation.

      However it should be murder even for the husband to kill it if it is a one-celled man. In those cases, the most the husband can do is place the son on the altar and leave the decision to Jehovah, in the footsteps of Abraham. In order not to prejudice the matter, it is recommended to place the son on the altar while leaving it within the woman. While Jehovah shows a general preference for virgins over preggers, at least it's a courtesy to make the offering.
