    I came across these recently and am strongly considering buying one.  The reviews on Amazon are very positive.  This is heavy, but once hot, retains the heat much better than the thin steel ones.  It compensates for the not hot enough home burners. Apparently the base is flat - even works on glass top stoves, but the interior is curved as a wok should be.

      Inherited it and it has been used since the 50's.  Newer models, unlike the one I have, has the ability to simply take the main wok bowl out completely from the electric part - so it is easy to wash up.

      Still learning about cast iron seasoning.  Looks like I'd better get going on seasoning for the winter!

      Thanks for the recipes - made just like my southern and TX family loves - lots of butter in the pan which crisps up the edges to perfection!
