    a little corn in cornbread is great, and I don't mind the sweetness of the corn, if the cornbread itself is savory.

    hmm, I need to experiment in the kitchen.
    unfortunately, my oven burned out, and I need to get it fixed. Microwave, toaster oven, and stovetop serve most of my needs, but the toaster oven is tricky, and sometimes I need a real oven! I used to bake bread all the time. My favorites were wheat potato bread and a cormeal-herb bread.

    For purchased bread, if you are ever in Pescadero (south of Half Moon Bay, on highway 84, a couple miles east of highway 1), there's a little grocery with fresh artichoke bread that's really good (they also have dipping sauces, salsas, marinaras,  etc., with and without artichokes).
