  •  Occupy Nashville Survives (0+ / 0-)

I'm glad to know that the Occupy Nashville folks are stilll ready to stand strong and tell their stories in the public domain. Our collective rights to freedom of speech and assembly may be violated on a regular basis by some city governments, parks departments and police, but the Occupy Wall Street/Occupy America movement will only grow stronger in the face of these challenges.

Occupy Atlanta folks are filing a lawsuit against the city for civil rights violations. They are seeking an injunction.

Unfortunately, hitting the authorities in the pocket book is sometimes the only way to hold them accountable. Huge legal settlements tend to dissuade further violations.

Eventually the Chief of Police is forced to send out memos: "Stop arresting, beating and using so-called "less-lethal" weapons on  peaceful demonstrators. The lawsuits are costing the department millions of dollars."

Creds to Occupy Nashville for standing strong. The whole world is watching!
