  •  Janet is too busy making plans for the 4,000+ mile (0+ / 0-)

fence between the USA and Canada.

No that's not true, yet. Instead they are planning to use drones for border security.

The border service is also pondering options including a beefed-up technological presence through increased use of radar, sensors, cameras, drones and vehicle scanners. In addition, it might continue to improve or expand customs facilities at ports of entry.

This is kind of thinking would surely see a national security threat in the OWs protests and I don't doubt there are government spies at some protests.

    •  That doesn't follow. (0+ / 0-)

How does using drones to patrol the border to prevent smuggling of narcotics, weapons and human beings in any way proof that they see political protest as a national security threat?

Also--assuming that they're unarmed, what exactly is wrong with using drones to patrol the border in areas known for smuggling?

The Progressive Seeking Missile that a drone can carry?

      •  Seeing Canada, that has had a cooperative and (0+ / 0-)

peaceful relationship with the USA for over a century, as a terrorist threat, then it follows that Homeland Security would also see the peaceful, non-partisan OWs protests as a threat too.

Sending drones over another country's air space, there's a lot wrong with that.

        •  Canada isn't a threat, (0+ / 0-)

But, we have a huge, porous border with them.  That border does get exploited by illegal traffickers.  Not a reflection on Canada itself.
