    Arizona's system WAS electoral reform...what the GOP is doing here and to a lesser extent in California is just proof that no reform can stop these crazies.

      Which at least to me suggests that the kind of "reform" that the two major parties support isn't solving the problem.

      Throwing your hands up at that fact doesn't solve it either.

      The fundamental problem is first-past-the-post elections held in single-member districts, which ends up making the drawing of district lines crucial and a soft target for manipulation.

      One solution would be proportional representation.

      I'm sure there might be others as well.

      I'm glad that we agree, however, that the current horizon of reform as defined by the Democratic and Republican parties is insufficient.

      Independent commission, btut he governor can ask for members to eb removed at any time prior to map approval.

      Its independent, except when it isn't.  Who wrote that clause into that law?
