  •  Yes - amd consider the response rate (0+ / 0-)

What % of applications do these companies usually get back?  It can't be higher than tiny %.  If they receive a big spike in response they will notice it.

    •  Who will notice it (0+ / 0-)

They most likely go to a mail sorting facility where people, likely contractors, open the mail and then do data entry or hand it off to another batch of contractors or employees to do so.

If your attempt at trying to scam their business reply mail somehow gets past the post office without getting thrown away, it is getting thrown away by someone who doesn't care what crap you've stuffed in the envelope and is never going to tally or report it anywhere, because it just takes more time away from them trying to meet their processing quotas so they can go home.

      •  Somebody has to pay for it. (0+ / 0-)

Some mid-level bot will have to justify the increased expense to his or her manager. If this kind of thing is costing them an extra few hundred grand a month, someone will notice.

Maybe they'll get tired of losing money, grinding up trees to sell me shit I don't want.

        Occupy the Democratic Party!
