He was also Nixon's speech writer.

He was on Andrea Mitchell's show this morning, which is par for the course.

He had a show with Jimmy Kimmel called "Win Ben Stein's Money" back in the day. Jimmy Kimmel has a late night show, in case you haven't heard of him, either.

He's also what kos asked us not to be, and I don't mean a duck.

And I thought that's who you meant, too, since at least I've heard of him.

    •  Thanks, I guess. Anyway, Stein does not even (1+ / 0-)

      Major Tom

have the Green Party nomination yet.

More important to me is getting the Obama Admin to change on the three issues posted toward the end of the diary.

      Thanks for commenting.

for me to comment on, but I can comment on this statement:

"getting the Obama Admin to change"

I am of the opinion that there is no way President Obama can win re-election.

First of all, the money fight alone coming from just the Koch Bros. is enough to do him in. For every dollar he raises, the secret ad money is about 10:1 and perhaps by election time 100:1.

Secondly, President Obama has few, if any, allies and very little support.

Third, the fix is in regarding the voting process.

Fourth, change needs to be directed locally rather than federally. That is the plan they are using and it is working quite well. They keep us focused on social issues and the Presidential election, while they change the country through local judges and city policy.

Romney will win because the Koch/Rove infighting will disappear as soon as Romney wins the primary and they will use all their money and power to make sure that President Obama does not win.

Their most useful tool is keeping us jobless. It festers our anger and makes us powerless. So far it has worked.

But my real debate with you is with the quote. If I have learned anything, it is this. The only person I can change is me.

        •  Whoa, for someone who sees too many issues (0+ / 0-)

you were able to raise many different ones yourself.

At any rate, I agree withPluto uto, I think BO will win.

Obama has plenty of allies in the third way Democratic Party leadership, and most progressives will end up voting for him as well.

With you on the joblessness importance.  My 60 year old brother has been unemployed for over a year, may never find meaningful life again in this life.

However, I think we need to keep pushing on several critical issues.

          •  I disagree (0+ / 0-)

I read the linked article a couple of months ago and was hopeful at the time, but I've investigated the deep pockets too intensely to believe that any longer.

I'm not going to address the third way. I know as much about that topic as you do Ben Stein.

For every issue you have, the person next to you will have a different one. The GOP is able to organize around one issue: get President Obama out of office.

The Democratic party is divided and divisive. Unless we are able to organize around one issue, President Obama will not win re-election.

That issue is that we must put our issues aside in order to keep President Obama in office.

I hope I simplified our basic difference of opinion.

What large electoral states will he win?  Not CA, PA, NY, IL.  His polling with women is far behind Obama.  He is coasting now, trying to run out the clock while his opponents implode.  But once he is he nominee and has the focus of his party he will have to deal with a lot of very unhappy tea baggers who will despise his lack of purity.

Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.
