    had them checking a "filter" from a sampling system and finding the xenon (and krypton). THAT is total hooey - these are noble gases and are not trapped by filters. Which are there to trap isotopes that do interact or are big enough to be considered particulates.

    They've a 'dust sampling' station right outside unit-2, a covered tent-type thing on top of metal plates covering the ground. Gas sampling requires air sampling with air flow over a given time period.

      gases from the exhaust system they rigged trying to keep the hydrogen from building up.  
      Typically they will only admit something like this when it covers something much worse.

        are "alarmed" by krypton-85? The xenons? Bullshit. These are beta (and a low-energy gamma) emitters, bad to be breathed in hefty amounts, but not all that considerable.

        They're talking about "continuous" fission in the ground. I'm having a little trouble imagining exactly what that means, but obviously TEPCO and NISA (and everybody else 'in the loop') are "alarmed" about that.

        So I figure I should pay attention...
