Evacuate Tokyo? To??? I live in Tokyo. I'm not cutting edge on info but where given the geography of Japan do you think they could go?

space, and so many people living in Tokyo, there really isn't anywhere to go!
I think that TEPCO, and the Japanese Government (and any government for that matter) hide much, much more than they tell.
This kind of disaster is unprecedented.  Solution for the people of the northern half of Japan?  I envision a world in which America would be willing to let them come here.  I will get flamed for that, but that's just me being a human being.  I would hope that survivors of this disaster (and they are survivors - all of the people of Japan), would be welcome in any civilized country.  The Japanese Diaspora.  It would take an enormous effort from every country working together to make it happen, but it is actually possible - technically.
The radiation that was already released, won't just go away any time soon.  The radiation that continues to be released, and the nuclear reactions that we are seeing now, will saturate the groundwater for a long way in all directions - with radiation.  The air, the people, the animals, the birds - all transport radioactive material.  The ocean floor near the coast of Japan will be a radioactive nightmare.  This is not something that can be cleaned up.  All we (the people of the world) can do is try to help the survivors, and begin shutting down nuclear reactors everywhere, and begin making energy a different way - choose your favorite path.  Bring on the Revolution.  We need it to change our world.
