  •  she depressed me from the get-go! (0+ / 0-)

i honestly don't think i could have handled another clinton admon, personally!  and she's a great sos.

but what you say is exactly what this program host, michael krasny, was saying, that now they're organised and really t'd off, becaused they feel doubly disillusioned.  doubly disenfranchised.

i think what got me the most was him using the word 'cynically'.  i thought i was alone in thinking the obama campaign had an enormous amount of gall to use the motto of the united farmworkers.  i never saw obama as a real progressive: i remember being on telegraph avenue, in berkeley, at the street stall of a guy who was selling bumperstickers.  one read "president obama: prepare to be disappointed. and i thought, someone else sees it too.

but i do think the best guy by far won, but as a nation we can aspire to better than the raw deal we're all getting.

although that's as much a statement on the past several decades of american politics as anything else.

and  never did, that his strong point was economics, but rather foreign relations.

when the economic downturn - or whatever euphemism we are calling it now - occurred, i thought 'dang, that's it for him - his whole agenda is going to be blown out of the water.'  between ending the wars, and the economy, i didn't think he would get to much else in the first term.

i was 7 when the eisenhower admin came to an end, and since then, yes there was kennedy, but seriously, i think obama is the best since roosevelt.  he's done a helluva lot in less than three years, against pretty screwed up odds and opposition.
