  •  Ok, that is cool :) I was looking at their site (6+ / 0-)

and couldn't find anything about rater, alas. People all gone home. One big question is whether they would refi for a really short period. We've only got 6 years to go at this point and seriously do not want it to be longer than that. I'll check with them once the humans return :)

(amortized) for almost any number of years. You may also want to ask about a consumer loan (home equity loan) that is in a first lien position.

We just did that - rolled our 15 year fixed into a 3.99% 10 year fixed consumer loan that we can make payments on every two weeks, effectively reducing the length of the loan and the amount of interest we will pay.

I tried sending them half my mortgage payment every 2 weeks and they refused to credit my account, putting me in arrears. (They wanted to sell me a $499 instrument that allowed me to do the same thing, while arguing that they didn't know how to process bi-monthly payments.) I can't even believe that's legal.

Now that we've finally wised up and joined a CU, I will be investigating a re-fi. HATE Citi.

so we just do that. They would charge us something idiotic like $2.50 per payment to do their special biweekly thing. So we did it ourselves.

We were discussing today just paying the )#@($*& thing off, which would require cashing out some stock. Which would not be a bad idea at all.
