  •  Building the future, one Madame Defarge at a time (2+ / 0-)

As I recall, A Tale of Two Cities has a scene like this.  For some reason, Madame Defarge couldn't put it out of her mind.

    •  Yes, there were no sidewalks, narrow streets (0+ / 0-)

and the French 1% would tear through the streets in their carriages with no regard for the safety of people.

a child died, the people gathered at the fountain.

the father later took out the offending 1% man who was a heartless, murderous scoundrel protected by the courts because he was one of the 1%.  The courts belonged to the rich before the revolution.

      History is prescient.

Our court systems are such that a lawyer is required.  Most can't afford a lawyer; therefore, many injustices experienced by the poor are left with no recourse.

Now they have cut court budgets and a civil case can take forever to get before a judge IF the poor person actually coughs up enough for a lawyer.

Arbitration is beginning to replace the Justice by Jury system.

It's difficult to be happy knowing so many suffer. We must unite.
