I missed the "Cornbread" diary (went back and read and uprated) -- at first I had no idea what cornbread was in reference to, though, lol.  Thanks for gathering all the commentary on Cain -- I have paid little attention to him, but it certainly seems that others have detected a theme.

Love the Elmo story! What a persistent guy -- I was just reading today some  person denigrating someone else's (a 99%ter, I think, with a sign) dream of being a puppeteer. Lots of "why are people wasting their time on this, when they should be studying that" running around.

Whoever it was could probably benefit from reading about Mr. Clash.

A simply heartbreaking poem, today. I am, it appears, around Justice's age, yet I don't remember that event at all. In fact, I remember little or nothing about the Civil Rights stuff going on at the time -- didn't read about it until I was rather older, I guess. Yet my family knew people who were very much a part of it, in one way or another -- personal actions, or political ones. Weird how memory works. We had an odd family, though.

Interesting, about the disconnected thing. I don't think that happens only along racial or geographic lines.

Wonderful, thoughtful, and knowledgeful (if that was a word, lol) post. Thanks to all.
