Neo nazis are the scum of the Earth IMO.

    •  Honestly, having grown up in the Bay Area (7+ / 0-)

and lived down in the East Bay "punk scene" in the 80's, with the whole offshoots that came up with ARA skinheads, I can't tell you how many clashes I've seen in my time between neo-nazis -- usually methed out thugs -- and people that many onlookers couldn't distinguish them from (cops tended to not be able to tell the one from the other, at any rate). There was heavy violence at a few times in my memory. And then when the Oakland Black Bloc was acting so violently the other day, some of the folks who I knew who were there for that, right at the scene at Whole Foods, were saying that maybe these were neo-nazis dressed like Black Bloc (since no one knew anyone AND they were being violent toward people, not just property, which is flat out weird). I half wrote about it but only as a vague possibility. They are definitely a "radical faction" in California.

And then tonight, I find out that sure enough, the neo-nazis have been out and about, targeting younger people who were around. I do not know the exact details of what happened still. But why this should be happening in the same general vicinity some twenty-odd years after I recall it (and that was already something people where I live had been complaining about for some time, moreover) is just sad.

This area attracts a lot of fringe folks. We had Charles Manson, Richard Allen Davis, and other lunatics set up shop here. And neo-nazis have definitely been part of this. Also, the cops here are 1. incompetent and 2. brutal and 3. barely overseen and 4. better funded than any other sector of local Government.

But honestly, I hadn't heard anything about them for a while. And now, I really have to wonder.

Why is it that you never hear of them being arrested or on the news or anything, but some folks decide to camp and that's an International story and Oakland takes out 2 million dollars to stop the camping? All the while letting nazi scum run amuck through the Bay Area to boot stomp people?

Thanks for the well wishes. Sorry for the novel. I'm just upset now.
