  •  Unions care about unions (0+ / 0-)

Trumka would be in favor of child sex trafficking if he thought there was union power to be gleaned.  These guys routinely sell the planet and people's health down the river for their own gain.  They're just like oil companies, wiling to fucj everyone else over if you wave money in front of them

Intelligent, passionate, perceptive people will always disagree, but we should not let that disagreement, however heartfelt, lead us to become deaf to those better angels of our nature.

    •  hmm. Does your comment represent the views (0+ / 0-)

of "true environmentalists" or "true progressvies" or just yourself?

      •  some of each (0+ / 0-)

I think some environmentalists, but not all by any means, especially in California, are still pretty irked that we have moblized for some union priorities, only to see some major pieces of environmental legislation surrounding renewable energy and clean air in particular scuttled or attacked by heavy lobbying by unions.  If there's some animoisty there, it is well earned. In any event, if we can get unions what they need, that's great, but I think we learned a while ago not to look for any support coming back.

So, does it suprise me that Trumka would ignore the potential planet killing-job killing aspects of this if the jobs killed aren't union ones?

Based on past performance, no, that doesn't surprise me in the least.
