I was saying yesterday, if I had to cast a woman who rightwing repub women would 'see themselves as' it would be Ms. Bialek.  she looks like a texan booster, someone who would host fundraising garden parties for the repub nominee.

unfortunately that look also translates as "retired porn star" so I dunno.

the women being white (I'm ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE all the women are white) would, in any other time period, be automatic deathknell for dude, but these are weirdo times and I'm about ready to toss out everything I know about American sociology lol.

regardless, these accusations will not fly in the general.  those "independent suburban PA housewives" tweety's always talking about will not stand for it.

      Isn't that the truth, though?

About those other time periods and your very astute observations, I'd say in the current time period means exactly the opposite of a death knell, it plays right into the hands of those trying to use Cain to fight against the charges of racism in the GOP attacks on Obama.  That it may chafe folks in unspoken and unspeakable ways is probably still true, but the times and the GOP propaganda games dictate that it remain the unspoken piece.  It's a little bit like a game of sociology "chicken": the first to mention it aloud will gain the "racist" label.  So each side is just going to try and feint the other with it.
