  •  Again the accusation that I am not (0+ / 0-)

a sensitive person does not resonate with any real knowledge of me and my history.....

I have worked with Native Americans, both the Indian and Hispanic for several years....

My first book was written on the subject of Interventions for Native American Indian Youth....

so "titch titching", whatever this is, I am not doing....

I simply want to clarify positions that are cognitively disjointed by mis-perceptions fueled by generations of victimized storytelling and perpetuated to muddle and discourage real, insightful, intelligent, conversation.....

    •  you belong in Oklahoma wearing a sheet (9+ / 0-)

you'd fit right in and citing some bogus bonefides makes no difference when you hijack a diary for the only reason of being a dickheaded racist fuck.

The truth is the American genocide was/is the largest wholesale mass murder in all of human history. Hundreds of millions of native people died over five centuries of genocide. Over ten million died in the USA alone due to diseases and official murder by the invaders.

It's people like you who befoul the academic scholarship in this country by writing stupid books without knowing either history nor being even faintly aquainted with the subject. As your stupid mewlings prove.

America could have chosen to be the worlds doctor, or grocer. We choose instead to be her policeman. pity

    •  As a person of Ashkenazi Jewish heritage, (11+ / 0-)

I strongly suggest you shut the fuck up and stop using the Holocaust as a means of derailing this diary.

I don't give a fuck whom you've worked with. You come off as yet another detached academic who wades into discussions being held by the oppressed and tells them they're doing political activism wrong.

Oh, and yes: You're a dick. A colossal one.

    •  re-read this diary and this thread (10+ / 0-)
the accusation that I am not a sensitive person does not resonate with any real knowledge of me and my history...

if you cannot see the insensitivity of the way you have behaved in this thread, then I question the reality of your self-knowledge and I challenge whether you have any awareness of the way you come across to people.

here is a series of newsflashes for you, and i suspect there probably are other people who have wanted to tell you this for a while:

      • "working with" people and writing books about them does not equate with having their actual history and cultural experience

      • "working with" people and writing books about them does not make your understanding of a community more valid than that of the people who are members of that community

      • "working with" people and writing books about them does not give you the right to dictate to them how they should respond to events that directly affect their lives

i troll rate very rarely but I am appalled at the way you have behaved here and your tripledoubling down by continuing to justify yourself.

I simply want to clarify positions that are cognitively disjointed by mis-perceptions fueled by generations of victimized storytelling and perpetuated to muddle and discourage real, insightful, intelligent, conversation.....

Let's make this clear, once and for all:

      1) Your "facts" are wrong. A self-stated accomplished author relying upon an "incomplete" Wikipedia article, clearly stated in the very first line?  Wow...

      2) Your emotional IQ is lacking. You don't seem to understand how people are upset by the topic of this diary and parade through telling people their facts are wrong, when it is you who have no idea - zero - what you are talking about.

      3) I don't give a rat's ass who you've "worked with."  I've personally watched all kinds of "missionary groups", "do-gooders", and miscellaneous "academics" malpractice with indigenous peoples for decades.  Racism, misperceptions, false histories, abuse and lies accompany "working with" people. So what?  I drove through a bad part of town - so now I understand what it is like to survive there? That is called "arrogance."

Your "worked with" carries zero weight with me. Zero.

Your attitude and incredible lack of knowledge here states volumes:

      1)  You deny that genocide occurred across both American continents. Centuries of slaughters have occurred. Enslavement and death. Inquisition and death. Forced marches and death. Confiscation of land and death.  Intentional starvation and death. Official government policy of clearly state after state after state of all indigenous peoples, over and over.

There are literally dozens, if not hundreds of actual sources which document this. Reliance on a Wikipedia stub for "facts" is just dishonest. 90-95% of all indigenous peoples were killed off in the largest genocide on the planet after the "discovery" of the Americas.

      2)  You deny that practice of indigenous religions has ever been proscribed.  Dear gods!  Please think before you speak. It is common even today in prisons, on reservations, from the very landing of Spanish feet on Caribbean Islands, let alone their slaughterous adventures into the mainlands. The entire goal, openly announced in official documents of the day, of Spanish domination was to "Christianize the savages." English law, as well, held that the "gift" of Christianity was recompense for seizing of the indigenous lands.

This is a diary about the death of a child and the official "so what" from the people of the state where that occurred conveyed via the "justice system."

Your trolling here is offensive - your posts are not on the topic of the diary.
Your lies are offensive - what you claim as "facts" are demonstrably wrong.
      Your attitude is offensive.

Conclusion: stop what you are doing.

Hope that makes everything a little more clear.

Haven't seen you in a while (of course, I've been offline more than on- myself in recent months).  Good to have you back!

        •  God this BS pisses me off. Sorry to show up (5+ / 0-)

in such a state, but it is shocking to see this type of denial here.  I'm literally trembling with anger and dripping tears of sorrow at the ignorance.

I do visit DK as often as possible, but due to work and personal pressures often do not have time to write much.  I so enjoy the community of the decent people here.  And I am always astonished at the "community knitting" that the Internet allows us.

I grew up in a small town of 900 people on an empty prairie.  It was isolation defined.  To now magically connect with hearts as strong as those found here cheers me immensely.

I have missed seeing you more. And am so cheered by seeing the initials "MB" a little more frequently, so that I know he is well. And all my other friends here - you all cheer me.

Thank you, electron peoples, for permitting me to connect to brave and strong hearts of these great friends. The aluxes are with us. Time runs in circles and our ancestors surround us.  I don't know what has inspired me so, but I feel such a strong connection to Nulwee's recent diaries, as always with Ojibwa's, and the recent farm workers diaries, and this poor small child.

The currents have run together today and it is all flowing out.  Pardon my indulgence here for sharing my train of thought.

Oh do tell...are you hiding the title so nobody can read the reviews?????

Don't underestimate the number of PhDs you talking to here when you start talking this  "cognitively disjointed" bullshit either.  I NEVER let my students garble the English language like that.
