    Not having worked in broadcast journalism, I don't know, but they don't have to credit AP for the copy as print media are required to do?

      AP will put a story like this on the wire and news organizations will then decide whether to pick it up, whether to read it as is or whether to rewrite it in some way.

      TV stations rarely credit the AP in the same way that print journalists do and typically only if it comes across the wire as an "AP exclusive."

      AP also is able to appropriate content from individual members to distribute to other members. It's not just a one-way street.
