    If Rhinos come from the same genetic stream as horses, could unicorns have actually existed in the mix?

    Convict Bush, Cheney and their torture cabal. Support universal health care,unions, WikiLeaks and Occupy Wall Street! Time for a totally new, democratic economic system. Turn the corporations into worker cooperatives!

      There has been some work with some of the two-horned beasts (cattle and goats) to produce artificial "unicorns".

      It's a bit more than possible that the original stories about "unicorns" developed from seriously garbled travelers' tales about the rhinoceros and other exotic Asian animals. (When Marco Polo described actual"unicorns" on his travels, he was quite clearly describing rhinoceri.)

      or descendants may have lasted into 'legendary' times. They were single horned, long legged creatures that would have looked more horselike. If so, they may have contributed to the myth.
