But totally worthless coming from a school administrator who seems to know zip about history.

Unlovely. Uncaring. Guess his underwear is too tight or pulled up around his neck!

    •  The Chancellor makes 390K per year (4+ / 0-)

Ah, and in these hard economic times, I see they've given him a raise from the previous chancellor, even as they defund programs and raise student tuition, claiming financial hardship!

This places him in the 1% indeed.

His house was torched last year by angry protesters:

Eight people were in custody Saturday after a crowd of angry protesters broke windows and threw burning torches at UC Berkeley Chancellor Robert Birgeneau's campus residence in protest of fee hikes and budget cuts, authorities said.

As many as 75 people - some of them carrying torches - surrounded the mansion, known as University House, on the north side of campus off Hearst Avenue at about 11:15 p.m. Friday, police said.

The crowd, including a man taken into custody in a university protest a day earlier, chanted, "No justice, no peace," and began smashing planters, windows and lights. Several hurled their torches at the building, said campus spokesman Dan Mogulof.

And now this callous statement about students and a Professor being subject to this kind of abuse. Has he no shame at all? Is he incapable of coming to any understanding about the ire he's raised. Flaming torches were thrown into his house because of tuition hikes. And now he says "Go ahead and beat up students and faculty!"

I don't see why he would do that considering the tense history here.
