  •  I've been seeing that sentiment among my (4+ / 0-)

    libertarian-leaning Facebook friends. They're right about the problem of regulatory capture, but their notion that zero regulation will fix it is an article faith, coupled with two things that are common among libertarians:

    1) they tend to view corporate entities as persons, even more than the law does, and empathize with them; and

    2) they tend to be socially stunted (there's a reason Rand appeals to the dorky kids in school - it tells them that they're creative butterflies and that the mean kids are parasites), and loners, and find impositions from others, whether it be society or government, extremely irksome.
