  •  It's playing into the MSM meme that both Parties (10+ / 0-)

    are equally guilty.

They aren't. Their platforms are different.

Do our Democratic leaders do enough? No. But that's a far cry from being the same.

Claiming both parties do the same is doing the work of the GOP in trying to deflate the Democratic base so they'll feel depressed and say "why bother" and then stay home on election day.

We have to elect Dems to both houses with large enough margins where they have no excuse but to do the progressive (right) thing.

Not all Dems are like Ben Nelson, Max Baucus or Mary Landrieu. Kirsten Gillibrand is an example of the Dems we need to elect. I'd say Bernie Sanders, but Bernie calls himself an Independent.

    •  This tweet makes the point (4+ / 0-)
The difference between #Republicans and #Democrats is Democrats think torture is wrong, and Republicans think it's really cool.
      •  Except that our Democratic President (0+ / 0-)

gave a public free pass to everyone who tortured on Bush's orders.

Which really implies he doesn't think it's all that wrong.

    •  It's not their platforms that matter. (0+ / 0-)

It's what they actually do, or fail to do, with power when they have it that matters.

What they say they want to do is irrelevant.

Gillibrand has already cast dozens of votes she ought to be deeply ashamed of.  The only other name you could think of isn't a member of the Party, which makes rather the opposite point than the one you intended.

If you want working and poor people to vote for this Party, you're going to have to focus on making it a Party worthy of their votes instead of trying to bullshit them.
