highly sensitized to the bullshit and manipulation that passes as 'news stories' on the tele.  It is all very disturbing to me, however others in the house seem to insist on having it transmitted into the home.
I don't watch tv during the work week at all but can't escape it on the weekends unfortunately.

there is a lot of total nonsense on the radio as well.  NPR is really horrific, not too long ago they had a 'discussion' about inside trading ... like it is actually a debate where they had 1 person claiming it is bad and the other claiming it makes markets efficient and is perfectly legitimate and healthy.

However, it is not just in this country.  I was in Canada for awhile and saw/heard all the same tripe being espoused as news or intelligent unbiased political discussion .... it was neither and clearly was manipulation.

The internet is laced with the same "Bloomberg Financial News" is a prime example.  The difficulty for most people is being able to discern what is truthful, unbiased, unmanipulated and meaningful because there is such  a void in the swath of bullshit and distraction.

Ironically, it was Clinton's deregulation of the telecommunications industry in 1995 that has really accelerated the pervasive crap that passes for news.
