I don't want my tax dollars invested in death technology.

That's what oil is. Death. For our economy, our environment, our children's world.

    •  So is hydro and wind and geo thermal though (0+ / 0-)

Everything, bar solar, has massive draw backs, and solar isn't really where it needs to be.  I'm pro nuclear as it's been shown to be safer than anything but solar (water, wind, et all kill more people a year, water failures make nuclear failures look like small fries, and only nuclear really cranks out the power we need).

We really shouldn't be subsidizing any of it.  GE doesn't give a crap, they'll sell you wind turbines for crap energy, coal plants for cheap and toxic energy, or nuclear plants if you want, no matter what, they're going to get the money from it.

Let the prices fall where they will, true "green" energy will instantly go away, it's not practical, but we will probably get more energy efficient items once people see what the real cost of all energy actually is.

We will get fusion or some other source down the road, but till then let's stop pretending all this stuff is cheap, it's not.
