  •  there isn't ONE cop in sight here in Bellingham (7+ / 0-)

near the occupied park, and from my window I see the number of tents growing from last week.

A person at a moveon meeting told me "we worked for two months to get permits", so I don't know what or when things might change because I failed to ask about those permits' duration.
Our current Mayor Dan Pike is a strong supporter of the occupy movement across the Country, but he is currently behind in the voting numbers and I have no idea what his opponent feels about it all.
She isn't a Repug, and she says she is against the coal terminal, but in a recent debate she wouldn't join Pike in saying she wouldn't accept money from SS Marine (major player in the coal port). It was the old ' I can take their money but it doesn't mean it'll matter'. I don't believe her, she already has a record of doing deals out of site with industry.

So everything could change, and soon. Later I'll ask what the people in the park know about the permits, and I hope the people there at least voted in the Mayoral race, because that may change things for the worse if we lose the support of the Mayor's Office.
