  •  Here's why Kleefisch matters (8+ / 0-)

This Dark Scenario was thrown around last winter and spring as the Madison Movement got off the ground.

    A) Recall Walker gets underway but Kleefisch (the Michele Bachmann sister but the evil one) is ignored and is NOT recalled.

    B) It looks like the Recall is going to succeed, either by number of signatures amassed, or subsequently, when the actual campaign between Walker and a Democratic nominee is underway.

    C) With days to go Walker RESIGNS as governor! Kleefisch succeeds him as Governor! (Its what Lt. Governors do.)

    D) Since Walker is no longer governor the election against him is moot and therefore cancelled.

    E) Since Kleefisch is now governor (not Lt. Governor) under the WI constitution SHE now cannot be recalled until she has served a minimum of 1 year in her CURRENT office (which would now be governor).

SOOoooo....if you want to close the door to even the hint of a "Governor Kleefisch" you gotta recall them BOTH...and EACH.

    On Wisconsin!

    Shalom.

we've seen so far this year, there's really nothing they wouldn't do.

I've heard it might be an issue somehow, because the Lt. Gov. is officially "in charge" whenever the Gov. is out of state.  I'm not sure exactly how that might cause problems, but some people seem to think it could.

      Article V, §7 ¶(2)
         (2) If the governor is absent from this state, impeached, or from mental or physical disease, becomes incapable of performing the duties of the office, the lieutenant governor shall serve as acting governor for the balance of the unexpired term or until the governor returns,

Walker, your pink slip is coming, unless the orange jumpsuit gets you first.
