Obama's craven support of policies that benefit the 1%, including supporting drastic cuts to the budget that will result in austerity for the rest of us, are part in parcel to an economy that doesn't stand a chance to recover at this time.

In addition, the failure to prosecute Wall St. criminals has sent a message to Wall St: business as usual for the 1% at the expense of the 99.

In addition, the deal that DOJ is trying to negotiate with the banks and states is a slap on the wrist for illegal robo signing and predatory mortgage practices. You know this.

Yet folks on this site continue to fail to connect the dots.

I think Obama is deliberately siding with the 1%. Is he deliberately tanking the economy? No, but his policies will and are.

What craven support? The only time he talked about spending cuts was during debt ceiling.
I love how you people fail to acknowledge he's trying to raise taxes on the 1% and he campaigned on that but yet he's out for the 1%?

You people are either crazy or just blinded by your hatred of the man.
Final question, does romney's policies benefit the 99%? Is he trying to preserve the social safety net? Has he proposed raising taxes on the rich?

      Obama has.

        is patently false.

But families across the country are tightening their belts and making tough decisions.  The federal government should do the same.  (Applause.)  So tonight, I'm proposing specific steps to pay for the trillion dollars that it took to rescue the economy last year.

Starting in 2011, we are prepared to freeze government spending for three years.  (Applause.)  Spending related to our national security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security will not be affected.  But all other discretionary government programs will.  Like any cash-strapped family, we will work within a budget to invest in what we need and sacrifice what we don't.  And if I have to enforce this discipline by veto, I will.  (Applause.)

We will continue to go through the budget, line by line, page by page, to eliminate programs that we can't afford and don't work.  We've already identified $20 billion in savings for next year.

I do agree that the only way to support Obama is to ignore both his words and his actions.

The two things Teabaggers hate most are: being called racists; and black people.
