While the original claim rests on one anonymous source, I've not seen anything that specifically debunks or refutes that source. I'd appreciate either a link to backup your claim that it was debunked or a removal of your HR.

      Thanks!

were made locally.  Also, DHS issued a statement that they are not behind or planning these raids.

None of what you wrote conflicts with the assertion that Homeland Security assisted local police in the planning of these raids. In fact, since this article was written, a private consulting firm that works with DHS has admitted to working with local governments in planning the raids. While that doesn't directly implicate DHS, it certainly supports the anonymous DOJ person's claim.

I'm not surprised you had no link for anything that directly refutes the diary. Your entire life's purpose on DKos is to do everything in your power to prop up the Obama administration. So I am not surprised to see you so vigorously contesting a diary that you perceive as an attack on your hero.

If Wonkette has walked this back, I am unaware of it.

The source cited by Wonkette was some guy who knows an anonymous source inside the DOJ (not even the DHS) who said that the city/state officials were asking the DHS for advice on how to evict occupiers.  The feds allegedly advised them to make sure it was legal, bring plenty of cops, and move in when the number of people in the park was at its smallest (wee hours of the morning).  Supposedly the FBI told them to do it in the morning because of a lack of press availability.

The story also made it clear that every single decision to evict was made locally by local officals, not by the federal government.

The DHS has stated that it has not participated in the planning of any of these operations.
