  •  Herman Cain cancels on the NH Union Leader (9+ / 0-)

After Cain's debacle in Wisconsin they said no more cameras. Now they're saying only 20 minutes. Publisher Joe McQuaid ridicules the Cain campaign.

McQuaid said Thursday that 20 minutes was not enough time for a “formal, sit-down interview” during which he and other newspaper staff “size up” the candidates. …

Cain, personally and through his staff, later contended that the newspaper, not they, canceled the interview.

McQuaid responded, “We had an hour-long interview scheduled. They, in effect, canceled that, saying it could only be 20.

“It's kind of funny, I think, that with candidates complaining that the media doesn't give them enough time for depth, that Cain's camp blows off an in-depth interview,” he said. … McQuaid said he was not concerned about Cain not showing up.

“It's politics and campaigns. I don't think he's going anywhere from here at this point, anyway,” he said.

Probably not the wisest move to antagonize the largest and still influential newspaper in New Hampshire if you want to win a primary there. But Herman Cain is a different kind of candidate, running a different kind of campaign.

    •  Doesn't matter. (5+ / 0-)

      Newt was Cain's Succubus.

Seducing him into thinking he was an a-list player, all the while taking his strength.

Cain's a spent man now, waking up from his dream and wondering why he feels so drained, while Newt flits away with a candidacy reborn.

He's far and away the smartest Republican candidate.  He's a big zero morally, but he's legitimately smart.

would help definitively answer the question of which Republican Presidential candidate is smartest or least stupid. I'd probably bet on Romney because I think he would study harder than the others. Ron Paul and Huntsman might also do better than Newt-- who mostly sounds like a blowhard windbag to my ears. Like an arrogant Professor who thinks he's too good for his mediocre college. Has there been explanation for why he was denied tenure?

implosion, Herman did that all by himself.

I don't know that he is the smartest candidate, but he thinks he is.
