  •  that's a good and serious question (0+ / 0-)

The President and VP have to hold high security clearances--and isn't a psych evaluation required in obtaining that? Does anyone here know at what point a successful presidential candidate has to apply for the security clearance? Is it after winning the party nomination or after winning the general election (at which time a failure would be hard to deal with)?
After Cheney and the near-miss with Palin, I am now more worried about a crazy VP slipping into power than a president. The presidential candidates at least get some scrutiny before the election.
