  •  Yeppers, I'm thinking of the boiler/utility room (3+ / 0-)

room at my kid's school, the room that is down by the loading docks behind several sets of locked doors; the room the kids only know about if they happen to do a pottery project during one of their 7 years of elementary school because there's also a kiln in it (they end up sequestered at the far end of the room while the art teacher, should we have one in a given year, loads their projects into the kiln).

That room is full of all kinds of blow-upable, hand chop-offable, incredibly hot and dangerous equipment.  But hey, they're poor kids, not poor fetuses, and there are lots of them, so they're pretty expendable.  Why not let them operate the boiler and fix the power when it goes out, and use the snow blowers and shovels?
