of my 13 year old daughter who wanted to make it this year:

    1 Cup sugar
    1 Cup water
    1 bag cranberries

Throw them all in a saucepan and turn on medium.  While that is heating:

Grate the zest off of an orange into the pan, then throw the rest of the orange (peel off the rest of the rind) into the blender.  Blend it, then dump the orange stuff into the pan, add a handful of white raisins, a big squirt of lemon juice, and a diced up apple.  Cover and simmer until the cranberries have all popped open.  Chill and serve.

Note:  our recipe calls for pecans chopped up and included, but we don't like them so just leave them out.  You can also add a diced pear when you add the apple, or any other dried fruit you like besides raisins.

It's really yummy, and not hard to make at all.
