    America, though huge, shares a common culture and a fairly unified zeitgeist. It is WORTH tuning a cover specifically to the US market because the readership is huge. It would be impossible to create a cover designed to appeal to the "european" consumer, because there is no such thing. They are still highly nationalized and culturally distinct within themselves. Same with Asia and the South Pacific. So, economically, it just makes sense to create covers that focus on events or broader-spectrum interests.

    But yeah, you can also count on selling fluff to American readers.
