We have made our choice, then again is it actually worth wondering where we should be?

If you care to share, I would like to hear from you and others what their solutions are?

I belong to the “US” of America, not the “ME,$,ME,$,ME,$,ME,$” of America!

pluses and minuses won't change that much.  Climate and arability may come more into play.

Countries that have better social safety nets will probably try to maintain them.  Ditto for so called socialized medicine.  IMO Europe seems to have better zoning and more localized farming, vs. the U.S.

Upside for the U.S. is having the reserve currency (at least for the moment), military dominance, and a decent agriculture situation as long as there is petroleum and fertilizer.  We are spread out and without petroleum to grow and distribute food cities may get scary quickly.  Downside for the individual is that you are mostly on your own and there are a lot of guns in private hands so individual/local struggles for resources have more potential to be deadly.
