    I could see it being tossed back to the legislature.  However, by then the Dems could hold the State Senate or the Governor's office, so that would be interesting.  Or the court could just draw it themselves and this is a stab at what that could look like.

      There need to be maps in place by April or so. That's when the nomination period opens for legislative offices. The hearing is set for February, I believe, so there really isn't time for new maps, nor would the recalls have taken place by then. If the map is tossed, the courts would have to draw one.

      Ironically, the summer recalls present the best argument for the Republican map. Most of the voters who would have been disenfranchised in the Senate live in districts that held recall elections last summer, so rather than six years between senate elections, there will be three for those voters.
